EE Sim Update 7!! Main and Score Menu!

Hey all!!
Another exciting update with Expedition Everest Simulation. It's another day getting closer to the release, you can just hear the yeti roaring and the cold crisp air at the top of the broken tracks. :P hehe ^^

Update 7: Main and Scoring Menu:

As you can see below are the most recent add to the simulation. This is the menu that will welcome you on your embark trail hike on the paths you want to do in the game.
Welcome Screen Introduction: (Click below to see upclose. *Subject to change til the release)

You have two options to choose: Start Timed Game and Start Unlimited Game.
~ Start Timed Game: This is where you raced the clock to get as many guests as possible in the ride. You'll get 12 virtual hours to do that and once the time has run out, you can save it on themagical's arcade page and see if you make it into the top leader board.
Score Page in Sim: Thanks for playing! Submit Score! (Click below to see upclose. *Subject to change til the release)

~ Start Unlimited Game: This is where you can play as unlimited time you want (no clock timer here) as well no scoring either. This can be your practice time to see if you can get many guests as well brush up on your speed and then try the competitor mode. :P We have tough gamers on the site, so we'll see who can make it in the top leader board for this game! :D
The game is so close to be finished!! I can't wait for myself either to play online! :D
Until then,
Reighard

No more beta testing spots open! :(

As you read from the title, there's no more spots available for anybody to beta test our coming soon simulation (Expedition Everest).

Thank you for all being our beta testers and from your feedback has helped us create a better and much more stable simulation. Your feedback makes and shapes the simulations to perform the very best as it is intended to be.

We appreicate it greatly and looking forward to release the simulation. Again, please bare with us if the release of the simulation doesn't come out in time. We are still making fine tuning and adding some tweaking to the coding to make sure the simulation is ready for the public use.

Hopefully our release goal for this month expedition everest simulation will be ready as planned. We'll keep you updated if there's a delay in the developement release of the simulation. ;)

Thanks again and we hope you are excited as we are to announce the 6th addition to the simulation family.

Happy Holiday's and Merry Christmas!

Your Vote! Most Popular Simulation! (2008-01)

Recently on themagical's main page, we asked you the users and visitors of the site to vote for your favorite simulation.

From shock and interested by the results, here they are:

And the winner is...

-Tower Of Terror: 47.4% (Winner!! 1st!)
-Big Thunder Mountain: 18.8% (2nd)
-Phantom Manor: 16.2% (3rd)
-Millionaire Play It!: 13.6% (4th)
-Space Mountain: 3.9% (5th)

Quote from the Webmaster/Simulation Creator: "The Tower of Terror simulation got the major amount of votes from the visitors, about 47%!The second place has been taken by the Big Thunder Mountain simulation, runner up is the Phantom Manor simulation.Millionaire Play it! took the fourth place.

I was just wondering why the list ended this way. My personal favorite is the Tower of Terror sim, but I also like the MPi sim. Personally the second place suprises me; the Big Thunder Mountain sim has got a refurbishment in 2007, and it worked out well I see. The simulation has been improved and I added some new effects."

We are happy that you loved TOT as much as we do. I'm looking forward for new future simulations to produce as well can't wait for Expedition Everest simulation to come out real soon!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's!

EE Update 6 It's almost ready!! December 3, 2008

There's a new update with "Expedition Everest" Simulation. It marks a new update of December 3, 2008.

Below you'll see the latest simulation development update for: December 3, 2008
(Click on the picture to see it upclose.)

The noticeable features has been added:

-See through mountain: part is where you'll see the video image of the yeti tearing apart the tracks. (If you don't know what I mean, google it and you'll see what I mean. ;) )

-Thunderstorm Warning: The weather system feature has been added but not sure it will be ready for the release. We do know its implanted into the game already. We'll let you know when that feature will be added. If not at the release, it will then be an update. A version 2 update along with any bugs that may appear at the official release.

-Mountain Lighting Effects: The blue, green and purple lighting is the real special effect that you would see at the real attraction at Walt Disney World, Florida. It's another added feature that makes the mountain more magical and mysterious. Just that and making the day to night has the coolest effect ever. But that's what I think. ;)

-Failure System: We have programmed and added so many problems that can happen during a real life situation on Expedition Everest ride. It's way more problems with PH and TOT combined. Right now, it's the most programmed failures into this simulation so far!

The webmaster quote on the newest simulation: "Expedition Everest will be our newest simulation, which will be released around x-mas this year. After some months hard work we almost finished this sixth simulation. So again a rollercoaster sim, this one starts different from the previous ones. First you have to add the trains like with the real attraction before you can sen them to the mountain. There are 2 queues, the standby and fastpass queue. You can manage the amount of visitors who visit the attraction (Visitor Flow) by changing the time between the addition of a new visitor to the stage.
We added the failure system, known from TOT and PHM, and this one has more failures programmed this time."

We are getting closer as the month is closing in on us. There's still alot to do on our list before the major release. There's not that many bugs that our beta testers encountered. There is 4 open spots for you to beta test the newest simulation still! So hurry on up and test the newest and latest simulation build today!

Have a magical day!

Happy Bday Themagical and EE Update 5

December 1, 2000 was the first year that "Themagical.nl" came into life online. It was a first of its kind to be introduced disney online game simulations.

The community grew over the years and in 2007 was the highest hits on the site. The site still continues to grow and more visitors are playing the simulations that brings the most of the traffic to the site.

Here's the timeline of how the simulations were created from the beginning to the current simulation, Millionaire Play It. Coming soon this month (without delay) is Expedition Everest Simulation that will be added to the family of disney simulation creations.

Martijn Leseman (Webmaster/Simulation Creator) quote: "The Space Mountain Simulation is the first sim, which was published in 2004. The idea of building a simulation came from a few developed "Efteling" sims, which were very popular at the moment. OK, I wanted to build my own simulation, but where to start? I tried to gather all information I could get at that time and just started working in Flash. So after 1,5 year of learning and work, the first Themagical simulation was published!

Big Thunder Mountain -When I developed the first simulation (Space Mountain) I already thought of a second one. Again a rollercoaster as this is the most dynamic attraction to use. Personally I like this attraction, the theme, the sounds and much more, a ideal candidate for the next sim. About 90% of this simulation is accurate, but I had to change some parts to keep it playable. This sim has much more sound-effects and four trains which can be controlled. In 2007 we released a "reloaded" version, with optimized AS coding.

The Hollywood Tower of Terror is a fascinating attraction, and my personal favorite attraction in the Hollywood Studios, Orlando. There was no doubt that this attraction would be the basis for the third simulation. The effects and graphics took a long time to develop, butthe most difficult part was the AS coding. The TOT is very complex attraction, and I had to write a lot of code. In this sim I introduced the scripted AS tweens, who give the elevators a realistic look and feel. Later on, in the reloaded version (2008) the day/night switch was introduced, so now you can choose between a day and night version, both attractive to see.

Phantom Manor, part of the Frontierland Area in Disneyland Resort Paris, just has a perfect spot at the edge of The Waters Of The far West. When you enter the area it is hidden in the corner, behind the Big Thunder Mountain. You only see a small part of the attraction, a much larger part lays behind the row of trees, as you can see in the simulation. It was difficult to work out a system which would allow every "Doombuggy" to follow the track and move around when it was necessary. The code for this part of the sim is complex and consumes a lot of CPU power, despite the code optimizations. The simulation was the first one with a login, which allowed a scoring system. Due to the changes in JoomlaI had to remove the login, and introduce the Arcade component to save and manage the scores.

The Millionaire Play It! attraction simulation is the first simulation which is not based upon a "moving visitors" experience. This sim let you control the Millionaire Play It! show and work and think like a show producer. MPI is also the first project which was co-oped by Randy Reighard, who joined the Simulation Development Team (SDT) in July 2007. Because of the expanding team, we were able to lauch this simulation faster then the other 4 original simulations. MPI has a lot of special effect, and has for the first time in a themagical simulatio, a "FastPass" entrance, so the process of filling the show speeds up a little.

Expedition Everest Simulation project name: TMS006 Attraction name: Expedition EverestResort: Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney WorldCurrent sim status: development, release end of December 2008."

So Happy Birthday Themagical!! Wishing more magical happenings in the future and as well growth to the site!!
